I have owned this 1955 17 Foot Sportsman since 2005 when I bought it from a Family member. The boat has a traditional bottom but is in great condition. I sprayed the boat with Smith's before I applied the bilge paint. I also converted the boat to a 12 Volt system and added a electronic Pertronix system so that moisture in the distributor would not be a problem. The kids are out of the house and we never seem to use the boat any more. All original...last on water 2016. Been in clean, covered storage. The boat will fire right up and run great.
