Halsey Herreshoff adapted his sail design to create the HERRESHOFF HARBOR PILOT. “PICNIC’’ was very generously donated to Youth Sailing Foundation which is a non-profit organization with a goal of teaching children to sail. Proceeds of this sale will go to support these efforts. Here is our best take on the boats condition. There is water in the oil. Not good, however the engines runs perfectly. No signs of water in the cylinders. No smoke. Hence we believe (but cannot be certain) that water is getting in thru the engine oil cooler or the raw water pump. There is a soft spot in the deck but there is easy access for strengthening . The steering console needs to be refastened to the deck. Bimini and console cover are very nice with a new fitted custom cover. Also the Continental trailer is new. About $5K spent on these two items in the last year.
