1953 Chris Craft 20' Riviera. I completed a three year restoration on this boat where every painted or varnished plank was removed, replaced when needed, or repaired if necessary and refastened using new fasteners and adhesive/caulk. This includes a new bottom (doesn't need to be "soaked" prior to launching) with a mix of original and new mahogany planks. Original bottom planks were fastened with new silicon bronze fasteners and Sikaflex 291 LOT, and new bottom planks were bedded in 3M 5200 as well as new silicon bronze fasteners. I also replaced the keel, 5 bottom frames, transom and some transom frames and some side planks. All decks, engine hatch and covering boards were replaced with new mahogany planks. New upholstery, flooring, wiring harness, aluminum gas tank were installed, and all chrome hardware was re-plated. The propeller was sent out to be tuned, and there are new stainless prop shaft and coupler. The engine is a 158 horsepower flathead six cylinder MBL similar to the engine originally installed. Some undocumented work was done by the engine's previous owner, and I had the generator (now 12 volt) and fuel pump rebuilt, with new plugs and plug wires, new motor mounts and just recently installed a rebuilt water pump. The engine runs great. The steering wheel was restored and gauges are in good shape. The horn, bilge pump and blower all work. The boat was moored at our dock late last summer for 6 weeks with no problems, and is in the water now. The boat comes with a rebuilt four bunk tandem trailer. I can provide a full description of all work done and materials used in the restoration, plus pictures illustrating the process. I added three varnish coats this winter, for a total of 15 coats of varnish. I have restored more than 20 wooden boats and this is the best riding and handling boat of all of them.
