In 1936 Gar Wood introduced the Cabin Utility to the American market. It was an instant success and quickly outperformed the 20 foot open Utility model. Delivered to Fitzgerald and Lee in Alexandria Bay in 1936 which was the largest Gar Wood dealer in America, the Cabin Utility model offered a ventilating windshield and two glass windows which opened up on each side of the cabin This model became Gar Wood's most popular model with a total of 45 units made and sold in that year. This particular boat is completely original and no detail has been overlooked. The interior is burgundy leather and is in immaculate condition. This boat is a real beauty, winner of many show awards including the Clayton Boat Show where it took a First Place and can be seen in Tony Mollica's book on Gar Wood boats. Recently restored in Winter of 2017-2018
