This is a very interesting pre-war Chris Craft. It was originally built and purchased as a triple cockpit Cadet model in 1929 by St Clair Rogers of Rochester, NY. Around 1932, the boat was sent back to the Chris Craft factory where a 38' Commuter Style superstructure was installed, and Mr. Rogers upgraded the engine to a Hispano Suiza aircraft conversion V8 engine. The boat was involved in an accident under power, and was subsequently repaired and powered with her original engine once again. She was rescued and restored in the 1980's and campaigned on the show circuit during this time and is now ready for her next custodian. The boat is in need of a cosmetic restoration, but appears to be in good structural condition and very complete. She has a very interesting and documented history, including ownership by actress, Marcia Gay Harden.
