We are selling our 1956 Chris-Craft 24' Semi-enclosed model (SE-24-007) with original bottom and original Chris-Craft flathead 6 cylinder KL engine (105 HP @3200 RPM). • The engine was completely overhauled in 2021 by Van Ness Engineering with new pistons, rings, bearings, valves, replaced exhaust manifold, rebuilt carb, rebuilt waterpump and rebuilt fuel pump (21 hours and counting on engine since overhaul). Complete 12 volt conversion including rebuilt distributer with 12 volt Pertronix ignition, rebuilt starter and rebuilt generator. New spin on oil filter added. New tachometer cable installed this year. Added a raw water suction strainer. • New USCG approved 40 gallon gas tank installed in 2020 (Rayco Tanks). • Deck equipment includes all mooring lines, Danforth anchor with chain and rode mounted on the forward deck. Mini deadlight installed in forepeak. Portable toilet in forepeak. Removable boarding pole added to port side. Engine access built into port side of main deck (absolutely needed with a KL engine in this model!). Mahogany fold down steps on both port and starboard sides. Fenders with quick mounts on port side. All original chrome plated brass deck hardware including aft cleats, forward cleat, mooring line fairleads forward and aft, engine intake vents and bilge vents aft. New stainless steel midship cleats added. Expandable boat hook. • Replaced entire wiring system with USCG approved marine cable, fuse panel, resettable circuit breaker and battery shutoff switch. Water temperature gauge replaced with 12 volt gauge (mechanical gauge capillary tube failed, still have the gauge). Original Chris Craft navigation lights, cabin light and gauge lights all converted to 12 volt. Added a 12 volt auxiliary port with two USB charging ports. New 12 volt marine battery in May 2022 installed in a USCG approved battery box. Small 12 volt AGM battery installed in a USCG approved battery box for back up or house lighting. Original Chris-Craft 12 volt horn. One line wiring schematic of the new 12 volt system included. • Replaced the 6 volt automatic Lovett bilge pump with a 12 volt Lovett bilge pump. Added a Jabsco water puppy bilge pump with auto/manual switch and a bilge manifold to pump either forward or aft bilges. Also added an emergency bilge suction to the main engine pump with a bilge strainer. • Main deck was replaced by previous owner with 3/4" marine plywood. Deck covering is outdoor carpet. Engine box overhauled this winter new marine sound/vibration/fire insulation. Two additional passenger chairs added in 2018. Under deck tool and gear storage. 120 volt plug added to connect to shore power for two battery maintainer/chargers. Shore power cord and 30 amp plug included. All new paint inside and out with varnish maintained annually. New bottom paint every year. • Boat is currently in use out of Cape May, NJ offshore up to 3 miles and is kept in the water at a marina (salt water). Have the hull card and all information from the Mariner’s Museum. Engine and operating manual included.
