16 Feet 1965 Thompson Sea Mate
Manufactured by Thompson Bros. of Peshtigo, WI, one of North America’s leading pleasure craft manufacturers for over 60 years. The Sea Mate model was a well-equipped outboard model suitable for cruising, water skiing, and excellent performance in all water conditions. With its deep and beamy hull, it offered an exceptional amount of cockpit space for its size. This model was offered with vinyl deck covering as well as an upgraded varnished mahogany deck finish. Constructed of marine fir plywood over steam bent white oak ribs, these boats were very strong and often survived many decades of use. Comprehensively restored, including new bottom garboard planking, replaced ribs where necessary, new mahogany decks, new floor and Nautolex flooring material, all new wiring, new glass, and a full strip and refinish. A period correct Mercury 650, 65hp outboard was located for the boat and restored to original condition. The interior upholstery is original and in nice shape. The original bimini top is also included, but not currently mounted. The boat also includes a rare option, pop-out windshields. A complete album of the restoration process is available!
