This is a very uncommon model of Chris Craft kit boat from the 1950's. This "Hornet" model is currently the only one known to exist. Reminiscent of the 1957 Chevy with fins and classic 50's style. This boat was found in Iowa after being stored for many years. It is all original and has been recently refinished. The Montgomery Ward trailer is original to the boat and is in great condition. The 35hp Johnson Sea Horse engine has been beautifully restored and only needs to have the controls installed. This is a very nice, rare collectors piece for the Chris Craft enthusiast.

1935 Chris Craft Barrelback Runabout. This boat has been entirely restored, which included new decks and a new stern. Chrome, hull and frames are all original with the exception of one replaced plank. Originally, the bottoms of these boats were planked in two layers with a layer of canvas in between. This bottom has been upgraded by replacing the canvas material with fiberglass. The bottom is now water tight and extremely strong. Over $40,000 has been invested in this boat, but it is now being let go for $28,000. Boat is located in the Chesapeake on Elk River.

This boat is currently sitting upside down awaiting completion but has almost all of the hardwork done. The model"M" 4 cylinder engine is completely rebuilt and has not even been broken in yet as it has not been istalled since the rebuild. It has a new transmission and a stainless steel drive shaft ready to install. All of the instruments have been rebuilt and most of the hardware has been rechromed. A new cutwater awaits to be installed. The boat has had a new West System 5200 bottom and a red 2 part epoxy paint has been used on the bottom. Sides have been professionally done and they await varnishing. The bottom needs to have the plugs put back. The current owner has a supply of Phillipine Mahogany (see photo) which they will include with the boat in the event that wood is required later. Some ribs were replaced but everything below is now intact. This a rare boat which should be offered for about $35K when done properly.

If you are looking for a Chris Craft Rocket, this is the same boat but with white sides and brightwork decks. This is a perfect boat for that person looking for the next project. The boat is 100% complete with the exception of a missing tachometer.The boat has been kept indoors all its life. The boat has no rot. The transom had rot and has been removed. All frames throughout the boat are solid. Cedar decks and sides are solid and have been refastened. The project stalled upon discovering a metal plate screwed to the keel. Removal of the plate revealed a crack in the keel. This is the only problem left to be dealt with. The engine turns over and has compression. The boat could be hauled and delivered on its trailer but the trailer will not go with the boat.

The current owner purchased this boat approximately 30 years and it has been stored since. Some frames need to be replaced, but the planking and decks appear to be in fair condition. The engine was filled with oil prior to storage. The boat is complete with all hardware with the exception of the split glass windshield. The gauges are in good condition. Original upholstery is intact, but need to be replaced. This particular model was made for three years with a total of 140 being built. Great restoration project. The original engine was replaced at some point with a 1954 Model B. Comes with bows for the convertible top as well as a spare prop.

Chris-Craft established the Cavalier division in 1955 to concentrate on plywood construction techniques and to take advantage of the expanding mid-priced market. One of its first offerings was this 17' Utility with inboard power from a variety of Chris-Craft badged Hercules engines. It proved to be popular, with 936 hulls built in just 5 years production. The 1955 model is identifiable by its 2-piece vee-windshield; later models used a curved single piece windscreen. With a hull length of 16' 11" and a draft of only 18" the Utility was adaptable to many applications and uses. Its mahogany plywood finish is complemented by flame red and white interior upholstery. This example is powered by the Hercules/Chris-Craft K inline six-cylinder 95hp engine and is nicely equipped with horns mounted on the forward deck and a ski tow hookup and comes on a very sharp red painted trailer which matches its bottom color. It is currently licensed through 2009 in Ohio.

This boat has been used 128 hours in 42 years; a great candidate for restoration, or just a good solid turn key boat that is not at all ‘tired‘. The boat was originally sold in Kanka Kee Illinois, and has never been near salt water. The bottom is original and has not needed work nor has it been fiberglassed. The engine is also original and, at 128 hours, has needed no work. All gauges and automatic pump work. Always stored inside. The ski platform was custom made for the boat of solid mahogany. The windshield is thought to be not original, but there is no history available on the matter. It appears that the sides were refinished by someone who was a little heavy handed with the mahogany putty. With three hours of use a year, you can think of it as being just broken in! A great opportunity and priced to sell.

The only known damage is two small holes in the stern where there were once mooring hooks for the boat. Chris Craft made only 270 of these boats between 1963 and 1964 and this is a very nice original example from that period.

This boat is correct with no rot, strong engine, residing it life in fresh water only.

The interior has been redone with flames on the backs of the seats. The motor is a Volvo Penta the motor has been placed in the boat with the shaft in place, needs final hook ups, I have the O.G. engine block. the O.G. gages are out needs to be restored. I am missing the big gauge. I was going to replace them with newer white ones to give a more up date look. There is no dash. The gas tank been boiled out and placed back in needs final hook ups. There is no rot that I know of. The bright work or chrome is all there in good shape needs polishing or re chromed. some small cracks in the engine covers needs to be re painted. The O.G. trailer has been repainted new rims tires shows some signs of checking. Needs lights and wiring. I'm asking $8000 as it sits.

This unique “Custom Runabout” (produced from 1935 to 1938) was the only year produced with each cockpit dimensionally identical. This “Custom” was professionally restored from bow to stern, including bottom and transom frame replacement. The bottom was restored utilizing traditional methods, with the exception of a new material replacing the canvas between the inner and outer planks. The complete deck was replaced and 90% of the freeboard planking was restorable. The instruments are original and were restored by Clawson Classic Instruments. All the “Customs” hardware (brass and stainless steel) was restored and polished. The original steering wheel was replaced with and a banjo style wheel. The original model “L” 128hp was replaced with a rebuilt Chevy 350, 285hp.engine. The boat wiring was replaced meeting ABYC standards. This “Custom” does not require any pre-swelling and is a 55 MPH runner.

The four gold cushions are missing as is the flag staff, but we’re searching for them! There are two boards with small cracks in them. One is 8” long on the rear deck near the fin. On the side near the drivers seat there is one about 6” long. Both have been sanded smooth and varnished along the way. This beautiful cruiser is ready to go. It's a Lake Ontario boat and has always been used in fresh water. I acquired the boat in 1999. The hull was completely restored in 2006 including a lot of the chrome. The hull was dry and sound at time of restoration. No planking needed to be replaced. The windshield was modified from operable to fixed but I still have the original operable hardware and wipers. I also have the original spotlight and dual horns. I am not sure if the 455 Lincoln engine is original or not and I'm not sure of the hours on it but it runs strong and pulls the boat right along. The indoor boat slip I was renting was sold so I now have no place to keep the boat. It's currently inside my shop. FYI Waterdown, Ontario is about 1 hour from Buffalo, NY and 3 hrs from Detroit.

Beautiful cruiser with high freeboard, clipper bow, with capability to travel into large bodies of water. Seating for 9 with Amidship option, the only 59 I have ever seen with this option. Every option other than twin screw was included at manufacture. Complete hull restoration 2004, new hull varnish 2009, electrical 2003, new block including engine rebuilt 2004, chrome plated 2004 (95%) and period correct seat surfaces 2004. Hull # 036 of 144. Only freshwater operated, low total hours. The engine rebuild just upgraded the block so to keep the original look of the engine. The only year the boat was used since 2004 was 2008. The original owners of this boat are selling the vessel Judy IV. This boat is a Chris Craft Sea Skiff which was manufactured at the Algonac, Mi. facility in 1963 for the origninal owner's daughter, hence the name, and has been extremely well taken care of and babied all of it's life. There is a small foredeck, small stern deck with the majority of the vessel giving over to a large open cockpit. Beneath the fore deck there is a small cuddy cabin with 2 bunks. The boat is powered by a Chris Craft V8 engine driving through a paragon reversing transmission and conventional shaft and stern tube arrangement. I have had this vessel since 1986 and she has always been stored inside and I have never had any trouble with the engines. The fuel capacity is 150 gal. I have replaced the hsfat since the old one had a vibration in it. Both props have been rebuilt and brought back to normal. No hour meter but it does require a full quart of oil for each engine after a full days run and it has been that way since I bought it in 1986. The instruments ahve been replaced and thew boat has not been in the water for 2 years although we hooked the engines to water and ran them for an hour each year. They were then fogged and winterized. We have taken many btrips to the Great Lakes with the family through the yers but now that I am retired it is time to downsize. We also have a 1956 27 foot Chris Craft that we are using now .

Boat is very original, engines were upgraded from Chris Craft 327's to Chris Craft 350's that were purchased from Chris Craft, Very low hours. The mechanics on this boat are very impressive. Everything is neat & professional including new fuel tanks with water separators. New fresh water tanks & plumbing. New AC system, battery maintainer, all running gear in good condition. One owner since late 1965 and was professionally maintained by a Chris Craft dealer. Sleeps 6, all bright work was painted beige, could be repainted or stripped, stained & varnished for original appearance.In August 2009 Boat was stripped to bare wood and primed. I have included some picture of the stripping process and as you can see by the pictures, the hull is in great condition. Salon roof was epoxied and has 1 coat of paint. This is one of the most desired Racing Runabouts and unique in that it was one of the very few that were delivered with the mahogany varnished sides. The boat itself is in excellent condition and has a new 5200 bottom. It has red leather interior and the chrome hardware and gauges are in great condition. The engine was rebuilt in the 1990's and is in very good strong running condition.
