Most everything on the boat is original except for some instruments and the removal of the bow to stern handrail. 5200 no-soak bottom and painted with Imron. Honduras Mahogany planking. She still sits on the original trailer, which is a classic in its own right with 1930s style wheel covers. The Ariston model was Carlo Riva's favorite model as he felt that his dream was captured in every way and only 1012 of these were built over a 25 year period. This early Ariston was once owned by the President of a exotic Car Club and then later sold to the current owner who has kept the boat carefully stored for many years with barely any time on the water. |39455||22' Feet 1957 Chris Craft Sea Skiff||$13,900|
|What a bargain on this beautiful, original Sea Skiff number SK 22104! This boat was originally delivered to the George W. Mercer Shipyard in Clayton, New York, and spent most of her life in the area, lightly used and stored indoors. Since then, the vessel has been lovingly owned, used frequently, and professionally cared for each winter. Owners traded up to a 40’ and sadly must part with this cherished gem.
All major work has been completed since 2015. The original Hercules K 95hp engine was completely rebuilt in 2015 by Van Ness Engineering, including new internals, rebuilt carb and fuel pump, rebuilt distributor with Pertronix electronic ignition conversion, rewound starter, rewound generator, all electronics converted to 12 volt for reliability and ease of use. Also in 2015 the craft received a new Rayco Marine custom aluminum fuel tank, new modern fuel lines, new Racor spin-on fuel filter and fuel/water separator, making for a complete overhaul of the mechanical, fuel, and electrical systems.
In 2016, the boat’s beautiful decks were professionally stripped, stained, and varnished with 14 coats; all brightwork was sanded and varnished including the rare, factory-option ceiling boards; and the bottom was inspected, sanded, and repainted with copper bronze. Chrome accents were added to the functional windows at this time. A new, large Sunbrella convertible top was fitted, providing protection from the sun to the front seat and the extra-large engine box (an option from the factory and favorite second seating area), as well as protection from wind and rain with its zip-in front panel.
In 2017, the notable blue topsides were professionally refinished and the original generator was replaced with a modern single-wire alternator kit for improved reliability. All finish work and winter maintenance performed by Wooden Boat Restoration, Millington, MD.
Many original parts are still available including the original convertible top and frame and generator.
This Sea Skiff is a crowd pleaser and turns heads wherever she goes. Her gleaming brightwork and chrome are not to be missed. She’s ready for another owner to care for and love her!
