This particular Shepherd has an interesting ownership history that explains some of its unique features. The second owner of the boat in the 1960's was the president of General Motors of Canada, and the 2 next subsequent owners in the 1970's - 1990's were also former senior GM executives. In the mid 1960's the boat underwent a major re-fitting with all new top-line GM mechanics, electronics and comfort features including twin small block, high performance Corvette engines (327 cu.in./ 300 hp.), Cadillac upholstery, etc. The boat has been maintained immaculately ever since, with a new bottom in 2006 and was totally stripped and refinished (11 coats of varnish) last winter. A trailer is available for the boat. She has been in Canada and a fresh water boat all of her life.
