Total restoration was completed in 1994. New top & stern planks, side & bottom frames. All bottom planks, side & bottom frames, chines & keel are epoxy encapsulated. All hardware and gauges are original 1938 Thunderbolt. The original hull started out as a 1953 16' Century Resorter. This hull was then modified to the dimensions of the 1938 Thunderbolt with measurements taken from an original 1938 Thunderbolt. The boat is powered by a 1953 Century Graymarine Phantom 6-112 engine. The engine has been completely overhauled with less than 20 hours run time. The boat was only used for shows and has always been stored inside,under cover, and has not been shown since '98. Awards received: 1994 Missouri Woodies Boat Club/Century Boat Club, "The Bob Speltz Real Runabouts;" 1995 ACBS Chesapeake Bay, "2nd Place Special Interest;" 1998 ACBS Smith Mountain Lake, "People's Choice." Draws a crowd, sounds great, a thrill to drive.
