The Albany Boat Company was founded by John Hacker and Leon L. Tripp as the Hacker Boat Company in 1913. It would later be renamed by Tripp after Hacker was forced to sell his share due to poor health in 1917. As the Albany Boat Company, the firm continued to build boats in the style of John Hacker's designs, and was one of the first companies to build double-cockpit runabouts. Records indicate that this boat was built in 1926 although her model appears in literature as early as 1923. This model was designed by John Hacker, and achieves a speed of 28 knots with her 200 HP Scripps 208 straight six engine. This boat has been completely restored and set to run and comply with the modern standards of today. An extensive marine survey was done in 2013 and this boat was found to be in above average overall condition. The boat will make an excellent addition to any collection or boathouse.
