In the days when Zane Gray frequented the Catalina Island Tuna Club, Hel-port was often tied to a mooring just outside the club. It's original owner MR W.P. Durkee (V.P of Shell Oil Co) would come in to enjoy a whiskey and Cigar after a day of fishing. If you are looking for historical pedigree, it doesn't get much better than this. This floating antique comes with full records including the original build contract with Fellows and Stewart. The hull is douglas fir on oak, the house is mahogany. Twin Kermath Sea flyers (original engines)supply power, two 100 gal copper fuel tanks store gasoline. Recent refastening as needed, new keel bolts, new transom and hatches. She's all there a rare find outside a Maritime Museum.
