The Ensign model was Gar Wood's entry level model with many "big boat" features in an economical package. It was a very popular model that was affordable, easy to handle, and fast. The Chrysler Ace engine was a real performer. This boat is all original and was purchased new in 1946 from Fitzgerald & Lee in Alexandria Bay. Her current owner purchased the boat in 1997 and enjoyed it on the lake. Many summers were spent fishing and tubing with the kids. It was last in the water 4 years ago. Now requires some restoration work including some bottom planks, hull side planking, and a transom. These Ensigns are very fun boats and a real treat when restored. Registered as a 1947 but serial number shows that it is a 1946. No Reserve!
