Mystic Caledonia Yawl built by Ed Segen in 2007, second owner since 2017. Always garaged on a trailer in Brewster, Massachusetts. Balanced lug main, sprit rig mizzen, with self standing masts. Egyptian cotton sails. No standing rigging, so very quick to rig and launch. Built of glued sapele mahoghany and trimmed in white oak with very unique bronze hardware and kevlar coating under water. Torqeedo Travel 1103CS Electric Motor 2024, with remote control and two batteries stored under thwarts. New solid mast (2018) and new PVC centerboard and motor mount by Areys Pond Boatyard in 2023. New loadrite trailer in 2024. Two rowing stations with two sets of 10' oars. Flotation/bouyancy packs are included and can be installed under seats. Also included is an optional conversion of push/pull tiller to an ordinary tiller, though I prefer the push/pull version. Her mizzen enables me to easily heave-to under heavy winds, and put in up to three reefs in the main sail. She handles beautifully and is stable enough in up to 30 knot winds. She won first place in the owner build category of the 2010 International Wooden Boat Show in Mystic Connecticut (see picture of Patina on cover of 2010 boat show flyer below and also see picture of Ian Oughtred sitting in Patina at the boat show, below.) Might consider offers. Boat sits on its new trailer in garage in Brewster and has never been on a mooring.
