This boat is owner-constructed and was completed in 2024 after five years of careful and meticulous work. The boat is a Glen L Marine design and all materials and mechanical components comply with the recommendations of the designer. The length and beam of the boat are 19 feet and five and a half feet respectively. The boat has been used sparingly over the past two years because of drought related water conditions in Colorado. To date, it has slightly less than 20 hours on the motor. Construction: The construction method is “cold molding” using marine grade mahogany plywood over fir frames, keel and motor stringers. The bottom comprises four layers of ?” plywood embedded in epoxy. The bottom is also fiber glassed and painted. The sides and deck are two layers of plywood embedded in epoxy with 5/32” solid mahogany veneer planks. Sides and deck are also fiber-glassed. Splash rails and rub rails are laminated mahogany formed to the contours of the hull and deck. The fiberglassing of the deck, sides and transom allow the full color and grain of the mahogany to show completely. The stem and bow area are protected by multiple layers of fiberglass for added protection. These surfaces are painted. Other Features: To enhance the simplicity of maintenance, several nonstandard improvements were implemented. The interior of the cockpit can be quickly disassembled to access wiring, cables and the inner hull. The beam between the dual cockpits can also be removed quickly to move freely around the inside of the boat, for example, while cleaning or fishing. There is a small hatch behind the engine bay to access the rudder assembly and drain plugs. There is also a removable false beam forward of the engine bay to allow access to the front of the engine for maintenance purposes. Mechanical and Electrical: The boat is powered by a new Mercruiser 3.0 liter motor and a ZF45A transmission. The motor is rated at 135 horsepower. The motor and transmission were purchased in 2019 and installed in 2020. The boat was not completed until 2023 and launched in 2024. The throttle and transmission controller is also a Mercruiser component. The fuel tank holds 26 gallons of gasoline. All gauges and wiring harnesses are new and were provided by the supplier of the motor and transmission. All Coast Guard required equipment has been installed; eg, bilge pump, engine bay exhaust fan, navigation lights, fire extinquisher, etc.

The trailer was designed and custom built for the narrow dimensions of this boat. The manufacturer was Loadmaster Trailers located in Port Clinton OH. It is a double axle trailer with electric brakes. Because the trailer is narrower than standard boat trailers, it will pass through a standard 8 foot single car garage door. It is slightly over 22 feet in total length.
