Murray Wright of Dundee, NY designed and built over 300 of these sail boats in the 1940 to 1970. The K-70 model is believed to be one of the earliest. She is constructed of western red cedar over white oak ribs, trimmed in mahogany. The 27' sitka spruce mast carries 145 square feet of sail. These boats were designed for racing on Keuka Lake between Hammondsport and Penn Yan, NY. This boat has been completely restored and is fun to sail.

Greyhound was built in a little boathouse shop on beautiful Lake Courd'Alene Idaho in 1921. She roared around the lake with the Gentlemen of the era holding tightly to their straw hats. The original construction was of Oak frames with Cypress planking, which attests for her being with us today. The boat has been completely restored utilizing about 50% of her original frames and hullsides, then cold molding using West System processes and Courong marine plywood. The Rolls Royce Meteor 750 HP engine is carburated to run on regular fuel, and the craft is truely a daily user, not museum furniture. Sitting in the cockpit looking at Rolls Royce era guages, ers specific shift/throttle levers, one feels like he/she is ready for take-off.

Chris-Craft established the Cavalier division in 1955 to concentrate on plywood construction techniques and to take advantage of the expanding mid-priced market. One of its first offerings was this 17' Utility with inboard power from a variety of Chris-Craft badged Hercules engines. It proved to be popular, with 936 hulls built in just 5 years production. The 1955 model is identifiable by its 2-piece vee-windshield; later models used a curved single piece windscreen. With a hull length of 16' 11" and a draft of only 18" the Utility was adaptable to many applications and uses. Its mahogany plywood finish is complemented by flame red and white interior upholstery. This example is powered by the Hercules/Chris-Craft K inline six-cylinder 95hp engine and is nicely equipped with horns mounted on the forward deck and a ski tow hookup and comes on a very sharp red painted trailer which matches its bottom color. It is currently licensed through 2009 in Ohio.

This is a Falconer Racing engine that was installed in boat, “Will O The Wisp”. The engine was manufactured by Ryan Falconer. It is an aluminum block V-12 based on a small block Chevy design. It has a MoTec ignition system and fuel management system and can be adjusted to run a desired fuel map/ignition map via laptop. The engine weighs 580 lbs bobtail and puts out 620 HP @ 5000 rpm. An external IAC stepper has been installed to stabilize the idle at low rpm’s . The engine has approximately 40 hours on it. Equipped with a closed loop cooling system and only used in fresh water. It has a custom built Borg Warner Velvet drive 1 to 1 ratio transmission that was beefed up to handle the torque produced.

Beautiful cruiser with high freeboard, clipper bow, with capability to travel into large bodies of water. Seating for 9 with Amidship option, the only 59 I have ever seen with this option. Every option other than twin screw was included at manufacture. Complete hull restoration 2004, new hull varnish 2009, electrical 2003, new block including engine rebuilt 2004, chrome plated 2004 (95%) and period correct seat surfaces 2004. Hull # 036 of 144. Only freshwater operated, low total hours. The engine rebuild just upgraded the block so to keep the original look of the engine. The only year the boat was used since 2004 was 2008. The boat is water ready.

It was judged the best Lyman at the Lake Champlain chapter ACBS in 2006 and a merit award for superior craftsmanship in 2007. This boat was extensively rebuilt by and under the watchful eye of Myndy Woodruff. No expense was spared in preserving and maintaining the boat to original Lyman specifications. Rivendell operates with the original 6 volt system. She is powered by a 4 cylinder Greymarine 620 which is in excellent condition. She comes with a 2006 single axle Quickload trailer with surge brakes. There is a full custom sewn mooring cover, folding canvass top and like new fitted cushons. Very sea worthy. Beautiful original wood ribbing inside. Very good condition. Slips silently along to let you enjoy the lake sounds. Sold the cottage so no place to keep it. Built with western red cedar strips copper clench nailed over white oak ribs, trimmed with mahogany. 27ft Sitka Spruce mast carries 145 SF of sail. In restoration progress. Hull is currently stripped to the bare wood. This particular boat is hull #299.Virtually none of her wood needs to be replaced except for one of the spreaders. All copper fixtures here ready to get buffed out.Ballast is a piece of 110 lb. steel which is her center board. In the glorious Pre-War phase of wooden boating this vessel was the choice of only the most wealthy individuals in the country. It was commonly seen squiring people into new York Harbor for their day on Wall Street and Chris Craft made a total of 65 of these boats. Only a handful remain today and they are still seen as a fabulous note to a bygone era. The decks and sides have all been stripped and redone on this boat which has been owned by the current owner for the last 9 years . This is one of a small handful of these boats that still remain today in existence. This 25 Foot Lyman Sleeper has always been a fresh water 1000 Islands boat. It has a rebuilt Chrysler V-8 engine with very low hours as well as a substantial amount of work by a well known restorer. Hull was refinished in 2007 and the transom and decks were refinished in 2008. The fuel tank has been replaced and the engine was rebuilt in 2004. The bottom was refastened, original finish was wet sanded and buffed, and most of the chrome was redone. The instruments were done by Clawson and engine work was completed by Van Ness. All wiring is correct and original and every single component of this boat has been restored to new condition and or replaced with factory correct Riva parts. No detail has been overlooked.
