M/Y Harmony was designed by John L Hacker and Ben Huskins. Hacker designed and Huskins built the vessel. The client was a car dealer who used the boat as a daycruiser with his family. During WW II she was listed by the US Navy, who tore out all the luxurious interior fittings and built a new interior more practical for a patrol boat. After the war she was refitted as a private yacht and got many tender hearted owners who gave her continuous care and upgradings. Since some years back, Harmony has Gothenburg as her base port. Her owners have now however other priorities and the boat is thus for sale. The old and simple interior from the war has been removed. Her spacious saloon waits to be designed and receive a classical interior in accordance with the wishes of the new owner or in a strict original way. This is one of the classic enclosed cruisers that Chris Craft produced in the early 50's. There were only 130 of these hulls made. The boat is 31'7" in length at the water line, and has a 10'3" beam. She draws only 24" so is a good cruiser for shallow waters. With a fuel capacity of 120 gallons and a 15 gallon fresh water tank this is a great cruising family boat. She has a full mahogany hull and updated engines. Here is a small project boat that will turn into a jewel once again. She needs some scraping and painting to restore her looks. The boat has a stand up head & holding tank, fluxgate and helmsman compasses, GPS, search light, VHF radio, Depthfinder, and new top and side curtains.

Over the last 5 years the bottom was resealed and repainted. the hardware is all original but some of it should be rechromed. The decks and the railings should be redone. the interior was redone in 2006 and is very nice shape. The port side engine has the transmission out with a new one ready to be installed. Overall this boat is nice and well worth the sell price. The low price simoply reflects the fact that the owner just wishes to have someone else enjoy the boat.

This is a truly magnificent example of the finest manufacturer of cruisers and yachts. The hull underwent extensive restoration in 1988-90. This is a no worry investment. Engines were professinally rebuilt in 1990 and used sparingly until 1995 when the vessel was put it dry storage where it still remains today. A 30mm stainless-steel shaft drives a 15 x 9 LH Propeller. The former owner, decided to cover the underwater hull with 12 layers of fiberglass in order to keep the Boat in Water throughout the year. The wood is still sound and healthy. The present owner restored the Boat in Germany in 1991 and again in 2006 in Florida after years of enjoying the vessel. I have had this vessel since 1986 and she has always been stored inside and I have never had any trouble with the engines. The fuel capacity is 150 gal. I have replaced the hsfat since the old one had a vibration in it. Both props have been rebuilt and brought back to normal. No hour meter but it does require a full quart of oil for each engine after a full days run and it has been that way since I bought it in 1986. The instruments ahve been replaced and thew boat has not been in the water for 2 years although we hooked the engines to water and ran them for an hour each year. They were then fogged and winterized. We have taken many btrips to the Great Lakes with the family through the yers but now that I am retired it is time to downsize. This boat was built by George Lawley in 1926 for Leeds Mitchell of Chicago & Natucket. It was purchased in 1988 and was moved to Gloucester, MA for a professional restoration. The boat has 58 new ribs, some new flooring, planking, shelves, clamps, mahogany deck/tramson, windscreen, cockpit awning, shaft, etc... It retains all original Lawley hardware and was refitted with a rebuilt Scripps 100hp engine.
