| 9/29/2008 | 28309 | 16 Feet 1938 Gar Wood Split Cockpit Runabout | $25,000 - | |
|
| This rare Gar Wood, in good original condition, is in the water and running. Introduced during the depression, this model was advertised a "tpically Gar Wood in every detail from stem to stern and the greatest value ever offered in the low price class". the model proved successful, continuing through 1940 and the hull design was used for the very popular speedster. Only 15 of these 16 footers were built in 1938, and this boat is complete with factory hardware, gauges, sternlight, with everything intact and working down to the cigar lighter. The engine, original to the boat, was rebuilt in 1975 with little use since; the gas tank and lines were replaced last year. A spare engine is available. Never restored, the wood is all original and the boat is sound structurally and mechically. A cosmetic resoration to include a refinish, chrome and new leather would make thius little gem a show winner. Until then, it is a fine usuable boat to be enjoyed. Comes on a new trailer. |

|
| A rare and very sought after 17 foot Chris Craft Barrel Back which has an older restoration. The boat would need a strip and refinish but is in otherwise good condition. the bottom has been redone and the boat does not leak a drop. The boat has been recently upgraded to 12 volt electrical. The boat itself is in very good structural condition and has seen very little use over past 18 years. All of the wood is original, hardware all intact and in good shape and shows very well. these barrel backs are growing in value with the lack of 19 footers in the market and because they are so easy to trailer and store. Included with the boat is a copy of the build sheet from Chris Craft showing that it wasd dleiverd on July 22 of 1941 to saranac Lake New York and that it was Hull # 7.1867 |

| This very pretty boat was built by Ditchburn, a Premier Muskoka builder, in traditional Ditchburn styling with split cockpits, combing boards, split teardrop windshield and a large outboard rudder. A very manoeuverable planing hull makes this a fast and fun boat. One of 4 model 17's built in 1936 and the only one known to be in the water.
Completely restored from 1997 to 1999 by Millar-Potter with all of the original hardware and most of the original wood being retained. She is made of Port Oreford cedar which was not commercially available for decades. Her engine is a 1911 Ferro, restored by Everett Mcfarland. somewhere along the way the engine was fitted with a starter which makes the boat much more useable. This boat is an older restoration, fresh varnish on deck and transom. Engine starts right up.Boat very original.Previously owned by past president of ACBS.

| The current owner had this boat for over 20 years but has not had it in the water in the last 4 years. Boat has the original decks, bottom and hardware as well as motor. The boat is in very nice condition aqbd would be a good strong user boat. These boats were a very popular model of Chris Craft and were made with cedar as mahogany was in short supply after the war. Today they are highly desireable as they are enjoyed as a terrfic boat for entertaing and very sociable in design |
