A very popular model of Chris Craft, the white sided Sportsman was a practical and strong performer, produced from 1946 until 1954. This example had its bottom replaced in the early 2000's and has been repowered with a 158hp Chris Craft MBL engine, which powers the boat nicely. The engine was rebuilt professionally and installed in 2006. Bottom is double planked with marine ply inner skin and solid cedar planking. Recently, the cutwater was replaced, decks stripped and refinished, bottom stripped and repainted, and new upholstery added. The engine has been upgraded to a 12V system and 1-wire alternator for charging. 30 gallon replacement aluminum fuel tank. The tandem axle Tee Nee trailer is mainly used for storage and local transport, so flatbed transport would be ideal for longer distance deliveries. The 2/3 seat ahead of the engine is a tasteful original option allowing the boat to accommodate 8 passengers comfortably. The seller has just added bottom paint, sides redone, cleaned and sealed the linoleum floor, and tuned up the Chris Craft MBL engine. This is not a showboat but a very attractive collector boat used in the same Family for the last 18 years.
