This circa 1898 Van Blerck 6 cylinder engine - approximately 60 HP - was purchased from Joe Van Blerck at the 1966 New York Boat Show. As a personal friend, he talked me into buying it for spare parts to use in my 4 cylinder Van Blerck of the same vintage which is still powering our 40 foot 1912 cruiser "FLOX". I also have pistons, and some magneto and distributor parts. etc., as well as original Van Blerck literature showing photographs of the factory near Detroit, Michigan. The visibility, or open exposure, of most moving parts makes this engine ideal for teaching purposes. It could be rebuilt by an experienced machine shop.
