This unique and beautiful steam launch was completed in 1998 with a fiberglass hull molded from a 1904 Truscott Compromise Launch by Beckmann Boatshop Ltd. A handcrafted 4 1/2" raised mahogany & white ash deck, shearstreak, rub rails and T&G mahogany cockpit sole were added. A VFT-40 Semple Wood/Coal burning boiler develops sufficient steam to drive a Semple 3"X4" double acting steam engine connected to a 18"X23" brass steam propeller for a cruising speed of 7.3 mph. There is cushion seating for 8 people with under seat storage. Two position stearing, oil lamps, side curtains and boat cover are also included. The removable canopy was designed to fit down over the boiler for convenient transportation on the included trailer.
