Learn how the process works (FAQ)
This is a sister ship to the boat featured in the movie “On Golden Pond.” We were told there were 3 owners before us. The boat is fitted with the iconic Ford FE Side Oiler 427 c. i. The marine conversion was done by the renowned Holman/Moody. The 6 volt system was upgraded to 12 volts, the clunky Paragon transmission was replaced with a Velvet Drive, an engine oil cooler was added, a transmission cooler was added and double gas and oil filters were added. A custom bell housing moved the starter motor out of the bilge. Mallory electronic ignition and a Holley carburetor completes the power update. The hull appears to be original and we soak it at the beginning of each season. We use a solar charger to keep the battery up. It is kept in the water in the summer and inside heated storage in winter. There is a backup bilge pump with its own battery in case the main pump fails. The gas gauge, volt meter, tachometer, oil pressure and temp instruments work. The engine hour meter moves from time to time but does not seem to be accurate. The chrome is very good and the boat has a waterline mooring cover.
